All vases are made of Stoneware - they range from 11” tall to 4” tall. I call them vases but really they can hold anything. The tall are great for utensils, the shorties could be for bathroom trinkets and the wide baskets for fruit on the counter or even inside planters.

A note on buttons in my work:) If you follow along in my clay adventure you may have noticed that stitching and buttons seem to come through my creative process often.

Here’s why:) Sewing reminds me of the strong women in my family! They’re always either making something new or just making it work. I have great memories of my mom, aunt and grandmother, together tailoring a suit for my grandmother to wear at a cousins wedding, using what they have and making it work. They sew for necessity and for fun - curtains, cushions, purses, holiday decorations...

My mom also has saved a sewing box handed down from my great grandmother that’s is full of buttons, lace, ric-rac ribbon, zippers, garder belt fasteners, safety pins, wooden spools - some still in the original packing (which are very cool). I get such good feelings looking through that box.

When I was younger my mom bought me a sewing machine to teach me how to make skirts. I still have it and use it. Though I don’t claim to be a great seamstress, I do love sewing. I also love to incorporate those inspirations into my clay. I hope you can connect w them and enjoy them as much as I do!

Cheers to the #strongwomen in our lives!
