We rescued our first cat 2 Christmas’s ago. She is a sweet timid adult cat. Evelyn named her Poppy but we mostly call her Cat. She has become a wonderful studio mate. She comes down and hangs out just about every time I’m working in the studio. She has a cozy spot in the window and keeps to herself. On occasion, she makes it known I am not paying enough attention to her but mostly she just likes to be together:)
This summer while bringing Evelyn’s cousins back home after a sleep over, we met their new litter of kittens that needed homes! We brought one fuzz ball home unannounced. Her name is Alice. She is the softest cat alive, loves to cuddle, is very friendly, loves to play and like any kitten, is very curious. She surprisingly didn’t demolish the xmas tree, gets along with Cat for the most part - she and Rosie have grown to be great pals - they are both so young that neither of them know what is acceptable treatment of one another so they get along great. Haa
However!! She’s the worlds worst studio cat!! haha! She climbs to the highest shelf regardless of what pottery is on it. She sits IN bowls and dishes I just made. She steals brushes, tools and sponges and leaves them all over the basement…its a fun scavenger hunt we play EACH DAY. She has fallen IN the recycle bucket of clay(which is like mud) and tracked it all over the downstairs She insists on being in my lap while I try and work at the potters wheel. I’m constantly worried bc she’s either eating clay bits or drinking water from a clay bucket. No matter how many times I shoo her off the working table she comes back. I have come down in the morning to paw prints on work in progress…. In a nutshell, she has a lot to learn. Luckily, I keep a spray bottle in the studio to rehydrate clay work anyway! HAHA
Truly, we love her, she’s added a bright little energy to our house that is always emitting a zippy positivity, (even at 3 am)!
